Anda tidak boleh menyusui bayi jika anda :
Penyakit HIV
mengobati dengan pengobatan antiretroviral.
Sakit tebece yang aktif atau tidak diobatkan.
Sedang menggunakan atau kecanduan di atas obat gelap
Mengobati dengan pengobatan kanker.
Sedang menjalani theraphy radiasi.
Adalah seorang pecandu alkohol.
Juga, bayi sudah didiagnosa dengan galactosemia sebaiknya tidak disusui.

Just a few days after delivery, doctor advised me not to breastfeed my baby, because I was diagnosed with ‘acute kidney disease’ due to an untreated pre-ecclampsia during pregnancy. I was told that my body did not have enough protein to support both my own health and the baby’s needs. After undergoing treatment for about a month, I gained my health back and was able to breastfeed. Unfortunately my baby, who was 2 months old then, refused to drink breast milk in any way possible. Guess she was just not accustomed to its ‘flavor’. I tried to eat many kinds of food to enhance its flavor, tried many different methods of serving, but she kept refuse to drink breast milk. Her pediatric finally concluded that she ‘did not’ like the taste of breast milk. It was such a struggle for me.
